The student used the past form of the main verb in the past simple question. It should be ‘Did you enjoy your holiday?'

Grammar
Repeat to the point of error emphasising ‘did' and pointing backwards to indicate the past. Then repeat 'enjoyed' stressing 'ed' with a questioning look. Wait for the student to self-correct.

Error --- grammar - should read - The people are very kind.

The word people can be both singular and pural, a count noun. - In the singular sense of people refer to the men, woemn, and children of a particular tribe, nation, country, or ethnic group, speaking of them as a unit.

Used in the pural form - A people meaning the unit of all the people in a nationa etc. - is a singualr count noun. It has this form as a pural count noun: peoples. e.g. All the peoples of the world desire peace.

At the pre intermediate there is still a steep learning curve causing grammacial error when writing English.

I would ask the students to repeat the sentrence , showing a puzzled expression the word " was" to indicate that the wrong tense had been used.

I elecit their answer and write the correct word on the board.

Use of informal and formal speech.

Use of an idiom with formal speech is incorect. One should never use contracted form with formal speech.

Use of contracted auxilary verb. Shoudn't use idioms as a casual greeeting could have a different meaning. Should always use the full form. e.g. Should say, Good morning, sir, How are you?

HIghlight the mistake - stress that in some languages the use of forma; and informal address id quite different and can be offensive if use incorrectly.
