Checked-out or Checked himself out of the camp

There is a temporary camp where some workers check-in and check-out of the camp, similar to a hotel.

Some just abscond from the camp without letting the camp management know and they check-out from their system and some just come themselves at helpdesk office to check themselves out of the camp.

I wonder how to phrase those sentences.

(1) Mr. X and Mr. Y checked themselves out of the camp

Or

Mr. X and Mr. Y checked-out themselves out of the camp.

(2) We checked them out of the camp

Or

We checked-out them from the camp.
