Check two sentences please

Hi. Would you check these two sentences?

1. Is it correct to have what looks to be a specific time phrase like "last semester" with a past perfect continuous tense. Also, I am not sure the whole sentence is correct or not.

He found out the things he had been doing last semester they didn't like.

2. Is it correct to have what looks to be an appositive in the clause form "that he is the true provider for his family"?

Just to believe the word about him, that he is the true provider for her family, is one thing, but to say this is another thing.

Hi,

Would you check these two sentences?

1. Is it correct to have what looks to be a specific time phrase like "last semester" with a past perfect continuous tense. Yes

Also, I am not sure the whole sentence is correct or not. It's OK. Just a little awkward, but lots of things we write or say are a little awkward.

He found out the things he had been doing
