Check sentences please

Hi,

Are they correct?

1. They are all correct grammar. -- What is 'grammar' functioning as? (Should I say "What does 'grammar' function as?)

2. stepping into role -- Is 'role' in this context idiomatic, thus no need for an English article?

3. update member's details -- Here, 'member's functions similar to 'girl's schools', where 'member's' and 'girl's' are functioning as classifying adjectives?

4. the old patterns of mental activity could be broken down and new ones built. -- Is this an elliptical construction in that it should be "new ones (could be) built"?

5. If human behavior is malleable, then who better to mold it than the technicians who understand how the mechanism works? -- Is the underlined part a complete clause or not a complete clause but written informally? Or other explanations?
