Pros and cons of having a cat and

why are cats better than dogs.

Some people say that the dog is man´s best friend. However many would disagree and put cat in that statement instead. There are a lot of pros of having a cat, as well as some cons.

The most obvious advantage is having something furry around that you can stroke. Of course you need the cat´s permission to do that. One very prestige and possibly the oldest reason why man started to feed and later shelter cats, are their ability to catch mice. However this can turn out to be a disadvantage in case of some cats. Yes, I am talking about the cat under our roof, which hunts mice hundreds metres away from our house, then brings them home as a gifts and expects a reward for its bravery achievement. Nevertheless mice catching its generally an advantage. On top of that, you don´t have to walk the cat like a dog and you dont have to wash it, because they are very clean unlike dogs.

But there´s no gain without pain. Cat cost money and time, even though much less than a dog. It likes to climb up to the highest spot in your house and knock down everything in the way. Cats also like to scratch furniture. Another disadvantage might be allergy as there are more people allergic to cats than any other animals. Last of all, cats can be very annoying. Their most favorite prank is miaowing in front of any doors, acting like they want to get on the other side. But when you eventually come and open the doors, the cat just looks at you, make 180 degree turn and walk away.

In conclusion, I think cat is the best domestic animal you can get. Some people might say cat is not as friendly as a dog, but the truth is that they just have their own brain. Dog comes when you call it. Cat comes when it wants to.
