Someone is dealing with a (chemical) solution. He's stirring it now. But the solution splashes and some drops of it on the table. He needs to clean them. And you're going to say:

He (can) clean the drops of the solution when it has splashed on the table.

(This is a sentence from a check sheet; a supervisor needs to check if you can clean the drops or not during an experiment or treatment process.)

Do you call the table you use for any chemical experiment 'bench top'?

I would call it a bench; you may also hear "counter."
The word "top" refers to their upper flat surface. Hence, "bench top" or "counter top."
