Some people say that in all levels of education, from primary schools to universities, too much time is spent on learning facts and not enough on learning practical skills.

Do you agree or disagree?

It is often argued that education, through all stages, is more theoretical and less practical in nature. In my opinion, I completely agree with this observation.

In reality, there are various reasons to believe why education is full of theory . First of all, it is statistically proven that students attend a number of classical lectures than discussion and laboratories. Students are forced to only learn with textbooks and seem to ignore how the definitions work in fact. Such style of education impedes creative thinking. For example, as conducted analysis in top universities, it was found that computer technology students spend more time focusing on learning formulas and equations than writing computer code or designing software. Consequently, students do not meet any problem-solving skills that are necessary for a good computer engineer.

Another reason is that due to an overemphasis on pure bookish knowledge, many university graduates in the phase of being unemployed. Fresh graduates with no-equipped experimental skills virtually can't overcome any skill tests comes from the company leader. This greatly narrow their job prospects and thus, they typically fail their application. For example, in a recent article published in Economic Times, it was found that over 90 % of engineering graduates are unemployable. On further inquiry, it also indicated that the brief reason for this is lack of hands-on training. This warns a lot of college supervisors about changing it to make student affordably apply for their dream job career.

Having considered a range of arguments, to sum up, I have come to the conclusion that, in the state of affairs, education is more theoretical in nature. I strongly believe that if the concept is fundamental core, rather than its, the necessity of vocational education plays an indisputable role.
