New advances, particularly in the field of information technology, have brought new scientific gains to humans. Digitization is connecting cities, countries, and people, and igniting growth in new ways. A generation with digital skills is thriving. Students create a sensor-enabled early warning system for earthquakes. All communities have access to clean water. Drones can replant a rainforest. I believe that I have the potential to innovate as a technologist and act as a social change agent. In order to achieve my aim, I look forward to pursuing my Master's in Information Technology and Management (ITM) with specialization in Digital Systems Technology at ****.
I took Electronics as my field of study during higher secondary school. My interest started developing in the early stage of life when I saw the first LED TV being launched in India. The evolution from a large CRT to a flat LED TV pulled me to know more about the components of this transformation. This allowed me to scratch my head and the answer that I came to know was “integrated circuits”, which is integrated with 100-1000 transistors on a single chip. This made me dig the canal of Electronics with digital systems as my passion.
At my higher secondary school, I fell in love with Op-Amps, Digital Signals and also secured 94% in Electronics. I joined ****, *** University and completed my Bachelor of Engineering programme with a distinction in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2015. In my bachelor program, I came across a number of comprehensive courses such as Micro-controllers, Logic Design, Linear IC’s and Applications, VLSI circuits and Design. Furthermore, I was exposed to programming languages such as C, C++. All these courses have played a major role in the enrichment of analytical, theoretical and practical skills. In addition, the subjects laid a strong foundation for my Master’s with specialization in Digital Systems Technology which includes my dearest courses Embedded Systems, Enterprise Intelligent Device Applications, Intelligent Device Projects and Open Source Intelligent Device Applications. Thus with all these courses, my goal of becoming a Design Engineer would be accomplished.
During the course of my study, the Embedded C programming which I learned was best employed in my major project ‘Design and Implementation of Robotic Wheelchair'. The project uses components such as Micro-controller AT89S52, IR sensor, Accelerometer, H-Bridge, DC Motors, Relay and Loads (Fan, Bulb). The wheelchair can be guided with the help of accelerometer which is fixed on the head cap; with the tilt of the head, the wheelchair can be moved. The wheelchair can be started and stopped with the help of eye blink movements, also an obstacle sensor is provided. In addition, home automation is also provided on the wheelchair. In this project, one of the challenges that I faced while making the prototype was only 2 DC motors were running instead of 4 due to a small error in programming. The errors that I faced made me learn and become stronger in programming. The prototype of the project was successful and was one of the best prototypes at my college. I presented the project at ‘10th International Conference on COMmunication Systems & NETworkS’ (COMSNETS Graduate Forum). The paper will be published in IEEE Xplore. The conference with like-minded people provided me a great opportunity to interact with business idols and researchers. The sessions conducted during the conference helped me to learn about new topics, methods, and applications of a research domain.

After my under-graduation program, I joined *******. I learned JCL, COBOL, CICS, and DB2 during the initial training program. Based on the training I worked in Elements Systems Enhancement Project for a month and currently working as an Associate Consultant in ****** Support Project. My current project has taught me how effectively I could communicate with clients and how to manage three to four tasks in a single time. In my 2+ years of experience, fundamentals of Automation, Cloud Computing, Big Data and Hadoop Cluster. My technical, interpersonal and communication skills have been sharpened by working at ****.
Apart from my work, I participated in a number of CSR activities conducted by ****. I was an active volunteer for activities such as Project Akshara (notebook distribution drive for children in a government school), Wekare event (day out at old age home), Daan Utsav(donation of rice to support staff) and Summer Camp at Government School. Communicating with old age people and understanding their concerns, playing with school children has given me a great satisfaction. I want to continue my contribution towards any social cause which gives me a lot of happiness and immense pleasure.
From my school to under graduation, I engaged in a number of co-curricular activities which allowed me exploring my strengths outside of academics. I played Cricket tournament at 7th Standard where our team was the runner-up. During under graduation, I was a volunteer for our college annual fest called ****, where I need to visit different colleges and make students of other colleges participate in our fest. By communicating and motivating other college mates, a large number of people came to our event and made it successful. At my current company, I danced in an event- Single Largest Bollywood Dance by ****, which is in the list of Guinness Book of World Records. I was a member of Employee Forum Team, which conducted fun sessions for employees.
Graduate school is a place where I get to expand my knowledge, also I will be provided with innumerable opportunities for personal growth, intercultural development, and professional advancement. ***** is the university where research is part of its culture. Research and Innovation have played a vital role among the **** students. At *****, the research project Simon Game and Solar Power Mesh Network using Digi’s XBee and Aurdino carried out by the students of *** under the guidance of Professor **** made me fascinated. Also, the projects at **** Lab clearly match my interests. Getting a chance to work with some of the leading professors and part of such projects will be a major milestone towards achieving my goals.
**** is a fantastic place to meet people with varied backgrounds. Its multidimensional and Multicultural community motivates me to be part of its community. I am sure that the education imparted at ITM programme of Illinois Tech will definitely help me to become a prominent Design Engineer as well as to excel and scale new heights.
