I don't think this works. The simple problem is that you have a "comma splice." These are two separate sentences. You can either use a semi colon, or a period and capital letter.

I think your contrasting ideas should be treated in a more parallel way. They are not this; they are that. They are not artificial (adjective); they are sincere (adjective). (Sincerely is an adverb.)

They didn't come out [to be] artificial at all. In fact, they came out [to be] very sincere.

I can't think of the ****** term, but I would say this expression "came out" (compound verb) may alternatively be considered a member of the class of verbs like "seems, smells, looks, tastes, etc."
I think it can work both ways: The pictures came out very slowly (adverb)(from an automated developing machine). The pictures came out very dark (adjective)(The pictures look dark).
"Look" also can work both ways: She looked slowly around the room. (adv.) - She looked sick this morning. (adj.)
