Some people believe that they should be able to keep all the money they earn and should not have to pay tax to the state.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is argued by many people who believe they must save their salaries. Paying tax is a responsibility to citizens through which government would be able to make better infrastructure and provide support to retiree or unemployed people. I strongly disagree with the view that some people say, they should be able to keep all the money they earn.

Firstly, Government spends a huge amount of taxes on rail networks and roads. Roads and railways which are used more for transport were build, so people can easily travel or runs their business activities without facing any difficulty. As a result, improved infrastructure not only beneficial for their locals, but also increase the tourism in the country. For instance, In 2015 Germany had spent 50% of its tax on creating roads due to which 65% tourist increased.

Secondly, retired and jobless people also get financial support from the state. Government collects taxes from the citizens to pay certain amount of money for those who do not have any source of income. This enables these people to fulfill their need till they get any other means of job. For instance, a recent case study conducted by Cambridge University reported that Australia spends 25% of annual budget to retired and unemployed people. If government cannot impose tax or people cannot pay than it would be impossible for them to help its citizens in need.

In conclusion, I strongly say that as a responsible citizen it is our moral obligation to pay taxes for the betterment of community and raise the standard of a country.
