Topic: Although there is a lot of translation software available, learning a language could still be advantageous. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, people tend to depend on electronic devices in numerous different fields, especially in translating languages. Despite the fact that translation programs are supplanting and limiting the ability to self-study of people, it is widely believed that learning a new language by self is much better. I totally agree with this point of view.

First of all, by not relying on any software specialized in translation but concentrating on how we can learn a language, it may bring to us many benefits. Not only can we learn efficiently the language we choose but in addition, we may know other skills, such as critical thinking, open thinking, and comprehended thinking, and broaden our minds completely as well. Thus, we can change ourselves perfectly and, in the future, increase the chance of getting more opportunities related to the true skills belonging to the capacity of people rather than those which stem from technology.

Moreover, it can be easily seen that translating languages by programs cannot bring to users the accurate meanings of sentences or words. When we learn a new language, simultaneously, we also learn how to use which word in which environment, and know how to express our meaning in the most precise way. On the contrary, if we translate a language through translation software, there will possibly be a large margin of error we may have. For example, some words may be put in the wrong phrases, and because machines cannot understand all of our ideas, they cannot translate our sentences to other languages exactly.

In conclusion, knowing and learning how to use a language effectively may help people benefit themselves better rather than just knowing a little about it and depending on some translation programs.
