People think that government funding should not be used for art and culture, while the others think supporting culture activities may be benifical for the population and the culture.

Discuss both view and give your opinion.

It arises a question that how to use national budgets effectively. While some people think that citizens will benefit from cultural activities allocated by government, I tend toward the viewpoint that investment in urgent issue such as education/medical services should be prioritized.

The idea to support art and culture by government funding does seem feasible. Due to the development of society and internationalization, culture identities of some countries are in danger of lost. Therefore, non-profit activities relating cultural reservation should be encouraged in order to remain the traditional values. For instance, ‘’Cheo’’ singing competition is annually held in Bac Ninh province (the northern part of Viet Nam) by the Department of Arts and Culture that helps to preserve one of the intangible cultural heritage of this tropical country.

On the other hand, I believe that investing to education and healthcare are more practical. It is the fact that the proportion of the illiterate has still existed or even high in some developing countries. If government provide financial to build schools, learning tools and support tuition fee, students and parents will not be under pressure of money. Having been well-educated, people will have good attitude and clearly orientation of career which enable them to have better lives and devote to their country. Regarding health issues, life expectancy has a tendency to rise in the future, however, the number of incurable diseases is constantly going up. People are suffering serious diseases which were barely seen in the past. Hence, government should take actions by spending money on medical research, vaccines campaigns, particularly health education.

To sump up, it is no double that art and culture are indispensable part of a country. However, government should pay more attention on important sections such as medical services and education.
