Dear Sir/Madam (What exactly should i write here?)
My name is Sofia L*** and I am a final year student of Kapodestrian University of Athens in the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Science. I am going to graduate in June of 2012 , so I’m looking to expand my knowledge and experience in my subject. I am writing to apply for the the International Master of "Physical Activity and Health", because I strongly believe that it suits perfect my intellectual background, my research interests and my ambitious professional targets. In my academic career I had always excellent grades. I have been first in class at high school, and I have got a scholarship from the Kapodestrian University of Athens for my excellent grades in my first university year. I have the Michigan Certificate of Proficiency in English and the ‘Goethe Zertifikat C1’ in German as a foreign language. I have also been an active athlete in acrobatic gymnastics, participating with enthusiasm in many national festivals and international sport events, like ‘Eurogym’ (Belgium, France, Denmark) and ‘Gym for Life’ (Austria).
Ever since I remember myself, I was always dreaming to get professional involved with Physical Activity, recognizing the importance of this science for a balanced and healthy development of the personality and the body. In 2007 I succeeded my entrance in the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Science of Kapodestrian University of Athens. The same year, the owner of Sport Club Megas Alexandros, where I was an athlete, knowing how much I love physical activity and children, asked me to train the elementary classes of his Sport Club, and two years later the competitive classes too. In the September of 2010 I started working as a personal trainer as well. Soon after that, one of the ladies I had been training, seing my passion for physical activity and my comunication skills, asked me to lead the gym class in her Preschool Development Center, named ‘My Playce’.
In the beginning of 2010 I got a Socrates-Erasmus scholarship, that gave me the chance to live and study in Innsbruck (Austria) for 6 months, getting excellent grades. There, I had the opportunity to work with multicultural groups and to find out my capacity to express myself in other languages and adapt to new situations, enhancing my confidence in living and studying abroad.
The International Master of "Physical Activity and Health" is my first choice, because of the really interesting content and design. It covers the important role of physical activity in health and provides the opportunity to gain research experience. During my studies I have become very interested in the area of Rehabilitation and Disease Prevention through Physical Activity. I always could see the relationship between physical activity, exercise, and health, and wanted to promote health with my work. There are many people, that have the need of the specialized knowledge and experience this program gives. I am convinced thatthis program will give me the tools and means to do the very best for all these people. I am aware that the standards of your program will be high, but I believe that my CV can prove the fact that I can cope with a huge workload and high pressure.
I have always envisioned myself as a professional in Physical Activity, using my knowledge in order to help people. My mission is to inspirit people to exercise and to consider Physical Activity as a way of life. I believe that the International Master of "Physical Activity and Health" is the best program to complete my knowledge and push my career. After finishing this degree I would like to continue my studies in a Phd program and get work experience in Europe. This will lead me to implement my knowledge and experience for the development of my Science and my home university. I am very interested in the International Master of "Physical Activity and Health" and I will devote all my aspiration and strength to contribute to the success of this program. Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I am looking forward to your reply.
Sincerely,
