1/What is the difference in meaning btw check in (at) and check into ?Same meaning or not?

2/ Please re_write this sentence with check into:

Please check in (at counter B) at least 2 hours before departure.

3/ Check into = check in to?

check into is not the same as check in to.

I don't agree with your last sentence, CJ. I think check into works just fine for hotels and motels.

But if you check into an airline, then you can only be investigating it.

I stand corrected - and amazed!
Personally, I even pronounce them - phrase them - differently! And have been doing so for years! -- probably by analogy with check in at the gate. Please don't tell me it's check inat the gate!

When you call the hotel to make your reservation, you may ask "What time is check-in?" - but not "What time is check-into?"
