Critique of grade 11
For the past year I have been trying to learn how to work out properly by researching, listening and watching people work out, and that only gave me the basics of working out. By taking the personal and fitness activities course I was able to learn a lot about working out, especially weight lifting. Before I took the course I didn’t know what to do, I use to exercise chest (pectoral) muscles almost every day and did no cardio, core, or back exercises, which eventually didn’t give me the look and strength I was hoping to gain. That was until the teacher helped me and my class mate create one workout plan for the whole class to help us get started.
When I use to work out after school by myself I had a hard time finishing my last set, and sometimes I was too lazy to start my workout, by taking this course I was committed with a partner to finish at least seven exercises every other day. It was much easier to work out with a partner as we assisted and motivated each other to commit to our plan and workout in order to reach our goals. Working out in the class is a bit challenging as I compete with my classmate to lift more weight in a shorter period of time, or finish the community run faster.
The plan we created as a class was my first workout plan that I followed since I started working out. The plan was very easy to follow since it was dedicated for beginners and had a variety of exercises. I had a little hard time performing some of the exercises properly,
particularly exercises I haven’t performed before, but by repeating the exercise I was able to do it properly. The best thing that I liked about the exercise is the layout of the plan, which was chest and triceps on day 1, biceps and back on day 2, and shoulders and legs on day 3. This layout is good because all the exercises that works out the chest, it workout triceps as well, and most of the exercises that works out the biceps will involve the back, also since legs are hard to workout it is better to do shoulder at the same time because it is easy.
