Check and acceptance

In a construction project, there is a procedure after the construction is completed, that is, to check it and confirm whether it is ok. If it is ok, accept it. if it is not ok, not accept it.

For the above context, could I use the expression "check and acceptance"? is it a native expression?

could I say:

Party A shall conduct a check and acceptance?

The project passes the check and acceptance?

the project has been checked and accepted as qualified?

Are there any native expressions for such kind of thing?

Hello Clive,

Does "acceptance inspection" mean an inspection conducted to confirm whehter or not the subject matter (such as a product or a project) is acceptable?

Another contractor recently used the term "survey" in a thread describing this function.

Yes. But note this. 'Inspection' involves looking at something, eg a wall, a building, a product.

For something that performs a function, eg a computer system, a car, use the word 'test'.

I can't find the thread I referred to, but the interesting thing in that one was that there are multiple players. You often have sub-contractors/vendors involved, so when someone is unhappy with the quality of the work, whom do you go to?
There's always the ubiquitous city building inspector who must be satisfied or bribed, but there are also issues where the specifications were misunderstoo

Hi Avangi,

With a construction project as an example, before the construction contractor (who is responsible for construction) finally delivers the project to the owner (who entrusted the contractor to conduct the construction), the owner will check the project to confirm whether it is satisfactory. Thanks, Anon.
I'm well acquainted with receiving inspection, in process, and final inspection in manufacturing; but I didn't know the terminology used in contracting. I've had my share of experiences with the building inspector (government), but I expect the relationships between prime contractor, client/owner, sub-contractor, vendor, systems installer, material supplier, etc. can get trick
