phrases are from songs,

"Beautiful dawn - I'm just chasing time again.
Thought I would die a lonely man, in endless night"

"Let's waste time, chasing cars around out heads"

Hi,

Songs are often hard to interpret.

Maybe it just means 'wasting some time'. I don't really know.
