Chasing?

I had to return a bespoke item to a shop in the UK due to quality issues. A fortnight later I asked if there were any news regarding my concerns and received a response containing the phrase " Production are aware that you are chasing and will prioritize as soon as [new parts] arrive.".

I'm a bit puzzled by the use of the word chasing which to me seems to imply an impatience on my part. Maybe I'm missing something here? Any input would be much appreciated.

I don't think it is meant negatively towards you. They are just saying that production are aware that you are pressing for the problem to be fixed.

Hi

I wouldn't say they are accusing you of being impatient. They are aware that you are keen to have some news

It's a fairly standard business idiom:

- Can you get onto our London office and see what is happening with those orders? We're getting more and more customers chasing us about it
