Character traits of Agamemnon that make him great?

I am writing an essay on "What make Greek heroes Great" I'm having trouble coming up with redeeming qualities on Agamemnon as I personally don't feel he was a great hero. What are some character traits that I write about and possible examples from the text? Thanks!

Hello, Matt—and welcome to English Forums. The foremost characteristic of Agamemnon was that he went to war and as commander-in-chief conducted it with honour, expertise and authority on behalf of his brother, Menelaus and through none of his own desire. For this he was ignomiously murdered by his wife Clytemnestra and her lover, Aegisthus.
