Character equality of another growth recipe..?

I would appreciate it, if anybody could help me with this. What does the last sentence mean? Especially the underlined part? Thanks a million.

Basically, it indicates that we had major imbalances build beginning in the turn of the century where the took its consumption share of GDP to an unheard of 72 percent. At the same time, under consumed, over saved and drove its growth engine by a combination of extraordinarily unprecedented powerful increases in exports and fixed investment. And I think it's fair at the G-20 to raise questions about the character equality of another growth recipe for the world, post-crisis, rather than just focus on growth itself.

I could be wrong, but I take it to suggest that the Chinese plan for growing its GDP has proven itself to be effective, and the world would do well to consider it as a way to the future. Those who think there's anything immoral about it (of bad character) should think again.

It's hard to help you when I am having trouble understanding the paragraph. Some of the sentences are long and have too many words which made the meaning difficult to understand precisely.

Following the economic crisis, the G-20 should consider an alternative plan for improving the world economy, rat
