I need help starting my essay for my english 101 class. We are writing a character analysis on Louise Mallard, the main character from Kate Chopin's "The Story of an Hour". My introduction is confusing and I have no clue where to start. Can somebody please help me.

It is always good to start a character analysis with a declaritive sentence beginning with the name of the character one is analyzing.
An example would be:
Louise Mallard is a fascinating character who encapsulates all the complexities of Chopin's discontent with the role of women in the comfortable classes in late 19th century America.
My advice is always to make a plan on paper for an essay before you start to write it.
The plan can just be in brief point form.
eg If you want to discuss 3 aspects of the character, plan to have 3 body paragraphs in your essay, Think about what you want to say in each paragraph, and write it down in brief point form.
