Character

Choice, intention, and motivation are pivotal and potent change agents that lie at the root of our life journey. This is how we create our karma, which combines character, fate, and destiny into the outcome of our own handiwork.

In this context, I'm not sure what character here means. I looked it up in a dictionary:
  1. http://www.macmillandictionary.com/dictionary/american/character#character_4
  2. http://www.macmillandictionary.com/dictionary/american/character#character_9
  3. http://www.macmillandictionary.com/dictionary/american/character#character_15
  4. http://www.macmillandictionary.com/dictionary/american/character#character_19
  5. http://www.macmillandictionary.com/dictionary/american/character#character_26
  6. http://www.macmillandictionary.com/dictionary/american/character#character_29

Which one is appropriate in this text? By the way is fate different from destiny?

Thanks in advance!

- - #1 By the way is fate different from destiny? -- I suppose that here, fate is what control's one's destiny. Fate = what happens to you; destiny = how you end up.
