Change 'this' to 'that' for the answer?
Hi teachers,
Is it correct to change 'this' to 'that' for the answer? I'm asking it because that's not reported speech.
If yes, what's the reason?
Context:
Mary: I’m only going to be here a few more minutes because I have to finish this e-mail to Mr. White.
Why's Mary going to be at work a few more minutes?
Because she has to finish that e-mail to Mr. White.
