Is the use of 'change' correct in
"i took a taxi but i had no change."?

(It has nothing to do with taking a taxi, by the way.)

Well, in Iran, some taxi drivers have no change(=tiny money?!) to give you in return for'big money".

Have I used big/tiny money correctly?

And you normally take a taxi and there sit other people in the taxi too.And the taxi normally stops at several places along the way to take in other passengers, if they can.

It appears to me that on that link, the writer there wrongly believes that "change" means the same thing as "money".

It would make more sense to say

I wanted to take a taxi but I didn't have any money.
Or
I was already in the taxi when I discovered that I didn't have any money.
