CHANCE (smaller or less chance)

How would you properly say these 3 sentences please?

1 Your chances of winning diminish if you do that. (can you use DIMINISH?)

2 You have more chance of losing if you do that.

3 The more people there are, the less chance you have of winning./ The less players there are, the more chance you have of winning.

Thank you so much

more chance - I think its better to use "a greater chance of winning" bigger/smaller chance (I think they are okay too) "a lesser chance of winning" You can use "small chance" with a small difference in meaning. There is a small chance of winning the game if you guys can work as a team. If you guys don't work as a team, you all will have a lesser/smaller chance of winning the game.

  • Diminish sounds fine in your sentence.

1 diminish is ok / also: is reduced

2 greater chance

3 The more people there are, the smaller your chances of winning / The fewer players there are the greater your chance of winning. [These are just lest awkward than what you have listed.]

Thank you Philip,

I'd also go with SMALLER your chances, but could you say "you have less chance of winning"

I know you can say "you have more chance of winning"

it say it here in the dictionary, but not with LESS?
