This year I am going to love you more than I loved you last year. And will try giving you a chance to feel the same for/do the same to me.

The sentiment in the second sentence is not particularly appealing (in my opinion.)

I agree the second sentence is not expressed very well. Anyway, here is my revised version:
This year I am going to love you more than I loved you last year. Also, I will try to inspire you
with confidence that this feeling can be mutual.
