Certainly & sligthly

7. The doctor took one look at me and said that I was _________ overweight.
A. slightly B. accurately C. certainly D. continuously
Why is “C. certainly” correct? Why not “slightly”? Many thanks.

Me, too. However, I have found that the answer key is "certainly". I don't know why

I imagine your answer key thinks that the fact that the doctor only needed to "take one look at me" is supposed to be an indication that the person was more than just slightly overweight.

Personally, I don't think any of the answers are very good, but I think "slightly" is the only word that sounds natural in the sentence.
