Central Park

0Is it true that Central Park does not take a definite article. Grammatically, I think it should just like the White House but I heard Trump say it without.02br

0Central Park is the name of a place in Manhattan. Just as we do not use an article when referring to Manhattan, we do not use an article when talking about the place called Central Park. We don't use an article with Yellowstone National Park either (for example). 0-

0Just want to make sure I get this right, if a park's entrance says "Blue Park", do you call it Blue Park or the Blue Park? If you would say it without 'the', does it mean the White House's entrance or mailbox or a sign somewhere on the premises would read "the White House"?0-

0Signs sometimes leave out the word 'the' even though 'the' might be commonly used with the name. However, official stationary from the White House includes the word 'the':0-

0 Hi N2G02br
00Names of parks usually take no article in English, even if the name is plural, like 01i00Kensington Gardens.02i00 Many plural proper nouns do take 01i00the: the United States, the Alps, the Kennedys, the Balearic Islands.02i02br
