centered upon...

Hi there!

Will it be alright to say:

We will apply highly efficient techniques centered upon a neutron detector based on He counters and a gamma spectrometer.

I need to say that the above-mentioned devices are used when applying the techniques.

The "centered upon ... based upon" repetition is a bit awkward. Is it the neutron detector that is based on He counters and a gamma spectrometer?

Consider whether to write "helium" in full. To an ordinary reader "He counters" looks odd at first, but of course to a specialist audience they may be well known things. You would probably have a better idea of this than me.

Hi, thank you!

The neutron detector is based on He counters; these are the techniques that are centered around neutron detector and gamma spectrometer. How would you put it then?
