censorship

In the days before the mass marketing of books, censorship was-source of--, which helped the sale of the book and inspired Ralph Waldo Emerson to remark: "Every burned book enlightens the world".
A. a respected.. opinion
B. a constant.. guidance
C. a prime.. publicity
D. an unnoticed.. opposition
E. an unpromising.. criticism

I have a deja vu that I have asked this question before. But there's something more I want to know.

1. Doesn't the fact that censorship helped the sale of the book mean censorship was source of guidance? Well, the answer is not B.
2. Does "Every burned book enlightens the world" mean every book that was censored and prohibited has high value?
3. Does "help the sale of the book" and "Ralph Waldo Emerson's remark" indicate two antithetic features of censorship?

Thanks so much for your time.
