CELTA Pre-Interview Task

Hi there,

I've got an interview for the CELTA on Thursday and I've been issued with the pre-interview questions. Most of the tasks are straight forward and they've prompted me to recall my English Language from a couple of years ago, but I'm having trouble with one of the tasks.

The task asks you to underline the verb or verbs within a sentence and identify the form/tense used. For the life of me, I can't recall ever covering this before! I've done some online reading though, and I think I have a grasp of what it involves. I was just wondering if someone could take a look at what I've already done and give me a few comments.

a) We never go to the theatre these days. Present Simple

b) We're saving up to travel abroad. Present Perfect Continuous

c) We've already been to Europe. Past Perfect

d) We didn't have enough money to go further. Past Simple

e) We had spent all our savings by the end of the summer. Past Perfect

f) We'd been sleeping rough for several weeks when the weather turned colder. Past Perfect Continuous

g) This year I've been awarded a travel scholarship. Present Perfect

h) We're going to travel for six months in Australia and I'm going to write a thesis on local dialects. Future Continuous

i) I think we'll buy a camper van. Future Simple

j) By the year 2002 I'll have completed most of my research. Future Perfect Continuous

Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for someone to do the task for me - I'm aware that some people might feel unethical about helping me when this is supposed to be a task to test my knowledge. If you do feel that way, all I'd appreciate is just to know if they're right or wrong.

Regards,

Caroline
