Cellphone should be banned in class. Do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, cell phones have become popular in daily life and in school life as well. Nevertheless, it is assumed that teachers should not allow students to use phones in class. In my viewpoint, I firmly concur with the statement for the following reasons.

First of all, phones should be prohibited in class because they distract students from studying. There are a lot of interesting applications, and websites on phones, which makes students get addicted and immerse in. They even use their phones during class, neglect their studies, and do not pay enough attention to the lecture, this leads to their bad academic performance at school. In addition, using phones raises the high rate of cyberbullying among pupils. By using phones, students can easily capture other classmates’ mistakes like failed performance, makeup, haircut, photos, etc, and share them on social media. Maybe, it is innocent jokes, but they will turn into brutal bullying and lead to serious problems such as committing suicide.

Even though there are several negative consequences phones bringing to students are discussed above, if students know to utilize them in the correct way, they can benefit from them. Phones give them entertainment and make them unwind during the break by listening to music and playing games. Moreover, if they do not understand the lecture before, they may find videos on youtube to have a better overview of the materials.

In conclusion, even though there are some benefits to bringing phones to school, I believe that they should be prohibited in class.
