Cell phones

Hi! Can you correct my essay? It's supposed to be done in an hour, so it's not the best I've done, anyway it should be well written. Thanks!

Should parents allow teenagers to use cell phones?

It is a fact that nowadays nine out of ten teenagers have a cell phone. Many parents think the use of cell phones is beneficial for both. Nevertheless, many others argue that it is actually harmful.
Those parents who thinks it right for their kids to use a cell phone have their valid reasons. On the one hand, they are able to communicate with their children whenever and wherever they are. It is well known that most adolescents are troublesome and unruly. Therefore, a good way of exercising control over them is by knowing where they are all the time. On the other hand, cell phones proved to be beneficial for building teenagers' self-confidence. We live in a consumer society, thus if a teenager does not have the latest technological gadgets, it is obvious he is going to be discriminated.
Despite these legitimate reasons, there are still some parents who do not consider necessary for teenagers to use cell phones. Their justifications are convincing enough. On the one hand, they believe that allowing the use of any high-tech device to adolescents will signify their diversion from school matters. On the other hand, they think that, if permitted, cell phones would be a way of exposing their children to attacks and stealings.
In conclusion, opinions about the use of cell phones in teenagers are divided. The decision whether to allow their use or not will depend on each case in particular. What is important is to foster communication face to face between parents and children so as to fulfill the needs of everyone.
