Cell Phone or Cellphone

Is it better to keep "cell phone" as two words? Word underlines "cellphone" as a wrongly spelled word.

Thanks.

Hi,

In everyday English, I think most references today are to eg my cell.
ie the word 'phone' is commonly omitted.

Hi Clive,

When we speak, we can omit phone and use only cell. But whenever we write we cannot write only "cell", must write "cell phone" right....don't write cell phone as one word!!

Just this morning, I sent an e-mail saying "If you need to reach me, please call my cell" so... I'd say no, you can just write "cell."

We don't have cell phones in British English. We have mobiles or mobile phones.
