Cell phone

I'm looking for my cell phone. I ask my friend who's in the learning room:

Do you see my cell phone? Or

Have you seen my cell phone?

Are both useable and mean the same thing?

Thanks!

Either is okay but the first is more likely to result in your friend actually looking for the phone while the second is likely to elicit a "yes" or "no" without him/her actually looking.
