Celestial sphere

I know the celestial sphere is imaginary, but metaphorically speaking, according to astrologers/astronomers is the celestial sphere only our sky surrounding the earth, or is it as big as our solar system surrounding the rest of the planets as well?

Any visible object in the sky is considered as a "projection" on this imaginary sphere. It's the same with all the planets.In other words, even though it is considered as extremely huge, nothing is inside it.
