CC of a business letter

Is it appropriate to draw a line thru the inside address & salutation when the letter is being mailed to the "cc" listed at the bottom of the letter?

I've never seen such a thing done. I have seen the CC line highlighted, though.

Grammar Geek,

When cc'ing someone on a business letter, do I note the "cc: Joe Smith" after the closing and signature of the letter, or do I place the "cc: Joe Smith" just before the closing the signature? Examples below.

Example A:

Dear Mary,

Blah blah blah.

Sincerely,

Susan Smith

cc: Joe Smith
