Cautiously optimistic vs giddily optimistic

You know, I'm cautiously optimistic about my future.

If I want to say just the opposite, I'll say I'm giddily optimistic about my future.

My question is, is it right to use the word "giddily" there?

Thanks.

I guess it is appropriate to use it, if that's what you want to say. The picture I have in my mind is that you are almost bouncing off the walls with optimism. There are other ways to say the other extreme of optimism too.

Hi,

Giddily sounds here as though you're talking figuratively. Therefore, I wouldn't say this

term is subject to appropriateness in this case. You are at liberty to articulate your thoughts in

this way if you'd like to. After all, you are the honcho of your future.

I wouldn't recommend it. Instead you could say "quite", "very" or something similar but "giddily" just doesn't fit.

Hi,

The phrase 'giddily optimistic' is fine, but I don't see it at all as the opposite of 'cautiously optimistic'.

I'd say eg rashly optimistic, impulsively optimistic.

Gosh!! I wasn't really want to say the opposite of "cautiously optimistic"! Upon my word! I mean "extremely optimistic" in the first place. Blame it on my brain at the middle of the night!
