Causative verbs with inanimate subjects

Hello.

I know that there is a semantically difference among "force", "compel" and "oblige".

Would you explain the difference in sense between them by using the follwing sentences?

Poverty forced him to quite the school.

Poverty complelled him to quite the school.

Poverty obliged him to quite the school.

Thank you in advance.
