Caught up in vs caught up with ?

Could anyone explain me the difference between "caught up with" and "caught up in"?

1. I am sorry, I am late, I got caught up with work.

I am sorry, I am late, I got caught up in work.

2. I was caught up with work.

I was caught up in work.

3. I am so much caught up with work.

I am so much caught up in work.

Definition: to do the work that one should have done.

I need a quiet time so I can catch up on my work.
