Catchy Line

Question

I was watching CSI New York and for some reason a line stuck in my head. Mac Taylor says, "Macveneziano's theory of quantum physics, everything's connected.
We just have to find out how." That line run in my head. So, I Googled "MacVeneziano" hoping to get some cool info on quantum physics to pretentiously spout out at the truck stop (and run away before some trucker knocks my obnoxious face in), only to discover that is was just made up for the show.

MacVeneziano certainly does exist, he's the greatest living physicist. But we New Yorkers don't want to share him with the rest of the world, so we pretend there is no such person. Meanwhile we're making huge strides in cutting-edge string theory, which we're not gonna share with ANYONE!
And by the way, I am the world's greatest living screenwriter. But nobody outside of New York City knows that. And we aim to keep it that way. Every Thursday night there's a screening of a selection from my extensive oeuvre, which only Gothamites have seen.

Try Googling "Gabrele Veneziano." He's a physicist, currently at CERN (as far as I know), and he came to international attention in the '60s with his work on string theory. I don't know if he ever said anything like, "Everything is connected." But then that's stating the obvious, so it's possible, but I doubt he or any other Veneziano and/or physicist/string theorist made a mark in history by stating it. It's like saying, "The sky is blue." Who's going to become famous for saying that?

To me, the big question is whether one of the writers on CSI New York is a fan of Gabriele Veneziano, or whether he pulled the name "Max Veneziano" and his "famous" statement out of thin air. "Veneziano" is a fairly common name/word. For example, there are a couple (more?) of Italian artists (painters) with that surname and I've been using Veneziano whole bean coffee off and on for years.
Or maybe the CSI writer is a former fan of the PBS/BBC series, "Connections." It made "Everything is connected" its theme. Then set about proving it.

Interesting. So MacVeneziano must be his illegitimate son, resulting from a fling in New York with the brilliant Maggie MacKendrick.

Physicist David Bohm, who once worked alongside Albert Einstein, actually described the interconnectedness of everything using the language of physics in his book, "Wholeness and the Implicate Order". I am not even remotely qualified to know how his theories hold up.

I'll bet CSI writers responsible for that line knew about Gabriele Veneziano. They must be consulting with a wide range of top-notch scientists. I gather that lot of the cutting edge technology used in the show is only in the research and development phases in the real world.

That could be interesting. One definition of creativity that I once heard was, "Creativity is making connections between things that seem to be unrelated."
