catch up to?

Hi
Is 'catch up to' the same as 'catch up with' as in:
Those problems always catch up to you.

Thanks!

Yes, I'm aware of the correct phrase but I have recently heard 'catch up to' and I'm wondering if its meaning is the same.

"To" is good English, but "with" is used in the figurative sense you asked about. Your friend can catch up to or with you on the footpath, but your sins catch up with (not to) you in the wee small hours.
