Catch this suitcase...

Hello,

Why is the verb 'to catch' used here in this sentence instead of 'take'?
'Catch this suitcase and put it on the bed.'

Thanks

This implies that someone is throwing the suitcase toward the receiver, and that person is to catch it and put it on the bed.

I remember the moment in the movie when it was said. A woman asked a soldier to take her suitcase and put it on the bed. No one was throwing the suitcase to anybody else. She just asked to 'take' it and put it on the bed, but instead of saying 'take' she said 'catch' it.
