Catch or Catches?

There will be one group of boys that catch your eye particularly.

Is it 'catch' or 'catches'? Also, does this sentence make sense, grammatically and format-wise?

Top answer

Answer 1: group is the subject, so you use catches. Answer 2: Catch sounds better because of the intervening plural boys . Grammarians will argue strenuously over this.

Hi Philip,

So using 'catches' would be the better option here? (That's what I thought as well, but because of the word 'group.')
