Cat person: so who keeps a cat as a pet/ keep = have?
cat person: a person who keeps cats as pets.
Q) I was wondering if the meaning changes slightly if "keep" changes to has. Do both have the meaning of raising cats as pets? or they have a little different meaning?
Q2) Can I say these: I have never kept a cat. I have never had a cat as a pet. Do I not need to add "a pet" if I use the verb "kept"? or Does this sound better?: "I have never raised a cat.
Top answer
1-- No change in meaning. 2-- You can say both; you needn't add 'as a pet'. 'Raised' is not so common.
