cast/raise [some] doubt(s)

Hi all,

What do you think about the following sentences?

1. Some of the interviewees have raised doubts about the methodology used.
2. Some of the interviewees have cast doubt on the methodology used.
3. Some of the interviewees have cast some doubts on the methodology used.

I'd choose the first one, but am unsure whether they are all correct, natural, and appropriate for an academic piece of work.
Thank you in advance. Emotion: smile
