I was castigated/ chastised/ rebuked/ reprimanded/ admonished for not doing any homework.

They are not exactly called that, but you'd do well to search

for this "Synonyms: admonish, reprove, rebuke, reprimand, reproach"

After reading the information MrP has provided, here is my understanding:-

It is unlikely that I will ever be castiaged, rebuked or reprimanded simply for not doing homework. These words simply severe criticisms. Plus 'castigating' is usually done in public.

If someone constantly refuses or forgets to do his homework, it will be possible that he is chastised, likely by his paren
