Case Study, Please ascertain me.

When someone has just finished the presentaion and it is now the Q&A section. I wish to ask him a question based on his speech. Which one below should I use?

Well, as you have mentioned that you support Euthanasia as a way to end life rightly. So...can you provide explanation?

Can you tell me why also?

I guess it is the second one right? Because the "mentioning moment" is in the presentation. And as the presentation has already been done. I should use the second one, right?

Assuming your only concern is the tense, both versions are fine. Simple past can be anytime in the past. Present perfect means the action (the mentioning moment , as you put it) has been completed in the relatively recent past.

  • Present perfect means the action (the mentioning moment , as you put it) has been completed in the relatively recent past.
  • A reason for using the present perfect is that it would give a greater sense of immediacy - something that has just happened.
  • As an aside, your first sentence is not a sentence.
