I wonder if I have used the expression carry a weight correctly in the following context.

I was delighted to see that my opinions and calculations carried a great weight in designing process of the company.

In this expression, "weight" is uncountable.

My opinion carries [great] weight. (no article)

"in designing process of the company" is not good. (again, problems with the articles)

"carried weight in designing the application" is okay.

"carried weight in the designing of the application" is okay.

"carries weight in the company's design process" is okay.

I'm not sure exactly what you want to say.

Don't forget that you have a plural subject here. They carry etc.

Also, there's the tense issue. Your original used past tense, as though you were referring to a particular occasion in the past. This is perfectly fine if that's what you want.

I used simple present, to indicate habitual behavior. That is, you're glad to see that your opinions and calculations regularly carry weight.
