Before addressing your question, are you sure that you mean ' f u nds / assets '? Surely my assets, at least my fixed assets, would unquestionably go forward to my accounts for the next accounting period?

Assets include many things such as land, cash, inventory, buildings,etc...

If the money the company earns and does not distribute to the shareholders, it can be carried to the next year statement.

Yes. But from an accounting point of view, it's their dollar value that counts.

Thank you very much for your replies. I'm not an accountant too. I'm trying to help somebody from the other forum. I'm not quite sure which word is appropriate. I think thats "funds" is the correct word. The problem is that in Polish "assets", "founds", "means", "resources" are trasnlated as one word "srodki". So I don't know which word to choose. As I mentioned
